# How the Ddriftt Curator Commission Model Works

> Learn how you earn commission on every booking your audience makes through your staylists — automatically, with no logistics or guest handling required.

When someone from your audience books a property you've recommended on Ddriftt, you earn a commission — no ads to run, no brand deals to negotiate, no reservations to manage. Your staylists do the work, and Ddriftt handles everything behind the scenes so you can focus entirely on curating places you genuinely love.

## How commission works

Every time a guest completes a booking through your staylist link, a commission is calculated as a percentage of the total booking value. Ddriftt retains 30% of that commission as a platform fee, and you receive the remainder. The split is automatic — there's nothing to invoice or request.

<Note>
  Ddriftt retains 30% of the total commission generated by each booking. The remaining 70% is paid out to you. You never need to negotiate your cut or chase a payment.
</Note>

Here's the flow from recommendation to payout:

1. A guest discovers a property through your staylist.
2. They complete a booking via Ddriftt's integrated booking system.
3. A commission is calculated based on the booking value and the rate set between Ddriftt and the hotelier.
4. Ddriftt retains 30% of that commission.
5. You receive the remaining 70%, triggered within 48 hours of the guest's check-in.

## What triggers a commission

A commission is triggered when a guest **completes a booking** through your staylist link and **checks in**. The key events are:

* **Booking made:** A guest clicks through your staylist and reserves a property.
* **Check-in occurs:** The commission is activated within 48 hours of the guest's arrival at the property.

If a booking is cancelled before check-in, no commission is generated. Only completed stays count.

## Commission rates

Commission rates vary by property. Each rate is agreed upon directly between Ddriftt and the hotelier — you don't need to negotiate anything. When you add a property to your staylist, the commission structure for that property is already in place.

To find out the commission rate for a specific property, check your curator dashboard or reach out to [curators@ddriftt.com](mailto:curators@ddriftt.com).

## What you don't need to do

Ddriftt is designed to remove every operational burden from your plate. As a curator, you are never responsible for:

* Managing room blocks or allotments
* Negotiating room rates or availability
* Handling reservations or booking changes
* Communicating with guests before, during, or after their stay
* Linking to a hotel's booking system (Ddriftt handles all integrations)

Your role is to curate. Everything else is handled for you.

## Earning potential

Your commission earnings depend on three factors:

* **Audience size** — the more people who browse your staylists, the more booking opportunities you create.
* **Audience engagement** — a highly engaged audience that trusts your recommendations converts at a higher rate.
* **Properties you curate** — properties with strong demand, distinctive appeal, and competitive rates tend to drive more bookings.

There's no cap on what you can earn. Curators who consistently publish high-quality staylists featuring in-demand properties across active audiences see the strongest results.

## Frequently asked questions

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="How much can I earn as a curator?">
    There's no fixed limit. Your earnings are a direct function of how many bookings your audience makes through your staylist links. Curators with engaged audiences and well-chosen properties can generate meaningful recurring income. Use your analytics dashboard to track which staylists and properties drive the most bookings, then refine your curation strategy accordingly.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Do I control room rates and availability?">
    No — hoteliers set and manage their own room rates and availability directly through their property management systems. Ddriftt surfaces whatever rates and dates the hotelier makes available. This means you're always recommending live, bookable inventory without needing to coordinate anything with the hotel.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What types of properties can I curate?">
    Ddriftt works with independent boutique hotels, design-forward properties, and distinctive stays that reflect genuine taste and character. You're not limited by location or category — if a property is listed on Ddriftt and aligns with your editorial voice, you can add it to your staylist. Browse the full property catalog in your curator dashboard to discover what's available.

  <Accordion title="How can I add a hotel I already work with?">
    If there's a hotel you already have a relationship with that isn't listed on Ddriftt, get in touch with the team at [curators@ddriftt.com](mailto:curators@ddriftt.com). The Ddriftt team manages all hotelier onboarding and will work to bring that property onto the platform. You don't need to handle any of the commercial or technical setup yourself.
